Community Guidelines
A respectful, safe, and inclusive environment
Larkup exists to help students and educators navigate the modern learning ecosystem with secure AI infrastructure. We want this platform to feel welcoming, safe, and highly productive for students, professors, teaching assistants, and university administration.
That only works when everyone interacts with the platform—and with each other—with dignity, respect, and academic integrity. These Community Guidelines explain what we expect from everyone who uses Larkup, and what we do not allow within our ecosystem.
1. What Larkup is for
Larkup is an AI-powered educational infrastructure platform. It is designed to automate administrative tasks, assist with grading, summarize course materials, and provide personalized learning feedback in a way that makes academic life easier to navigate.
The platform is built around academic growth, institutional security, and mutual respect. It is not a space for academic dishonesty, harassment, discrimination, exploitation, manipulation, or abusive behaviour.
2. Our platform standard
Everyone on Larkup must be treated with respect. We expect users to interact honestly, kindly, and responsibly, both in how they prompt our AI models and how they communicate with peers and educators.
We expect everyone to behave in a way that maintains academic integrity and makes the learning environment safer and more welcoming for others.
3. No hate, discrimination, or exclusion
Larkup has no place for racism, xenophobia, antisemitism, anti-Muslim hatred, homophobia, transphobia, sexism, ableism, or any other form of degrading or exclusionary behaviour.
We do not allow content or conduct—including AI prompts and generated materials—that attacks, humiliates, stereotypes, dehumanises, excludes, or threatens someone because of who they are or are perceived to be. This includes, for example:
- race, colour, ethnic or social origin, nationality, or migration background
- language or accent
- religion, belief, or non-belief
- sex, gender, gender identity, or gender expression
- sexual orientation
- disability, health condition, or neurodivergence
- age
- personal background or social status
This applies to messages, prompts, AI-generated coursework, profile text, usernames, and behaviour that creates a hostile educational environment.
4. No harassment, bullying, or intimidation
Do not harass other users. We do not allow bullying, intimidation, threats, repeated unwanted contact, dogpiling, shaming, sexual harassment, coercion, or any behaviour meant to make another person feel unsafe, trapped, or unwelcome on the platform.
This includes:
- repeated messaging after someone has asked you to stop
- insulting or mocking someone's identity, academic performance, or background
- unwanted sexual comments, flirting, or explicit content in communications
- threatening language, including indirect threats
- attempting to embarrass, expose, or punish someone for setting boundaries
5. Respect identity and personal boundaries
Use the name and identity a person gives you. If someone shares their pronouns, respect them. Do not mock, challenge, or debate another person's identity.
Do not disclose another person's sensitive information without their clear permission. Be mindful that students and educators come from diverse cultural and personal backgrounds. Do not treat differences as a problem to be corrected.
6. Be honest, authentic, and uphold academic integrity
Provide accurate information about yourself and your university affiliation. Do not impersonate another person, create fake accounts, misrepresent your role, or pretend to be affiliated with an institution when you are not.
Crucially, Larkup is an assistive AI tool. It is not designed to bypass academic effort. Users are expected to adhere to their institution's academic integrity policies. Generating entirely automated essays to submit as your own work without review or disclosure violates the spirit of educational AI.
7. Protect privacy and personal data
Respect other people's privacy. Do not share another person's private documents, grades, feedback, or personal information. Larkup is built with strict data privacy guidelines, and users must mirror this respect for confidentiality.
Do not attempt to prompt the AI to reveal sensitive student records, confidential institutional data, or private academic reviews.
8. No exploitation or system abuse
Larkup must not be used to exploit others or abuse AI systems. We do not allow:
- scams, fraud, or phishing
- misleading users about institutional policies or grading
- jailbreaking models to generate malicious content
- using the platform for personal financial gain, manipulation, or dependency
9. Keep support appropriate
AI tools provide academic assistance, structural feedback, and content summaries. They are not expected to act as therapists, lawyers, doctors, or emergency responders.
Do not rely on AI-generated outputs for critical medical, legal, or psychological advice. If you or someone you know needs urgent support, please contact your university's student services or local emergency responders.
10. No spam, commercial misuse, or unrelated promotion
Larkup is an educational environment. Do not use the platform to send repetitive messages, mass promotions, referral schemes, recruitment pitches, political propaganda, or unrelated advertising.
11. Content that is not allowed
The following are not allowed on Larkup:
- hate speech or discriminatory content
- harassment or bullying
- explicit sexual content or sexually aggressive behaviour
- violent threats or encouragement of violence
- scams, fraud, impersonation, or academic dishonesty
- disclosure of private institutional or personal information
- coercive or manipulative behaviour
- spam, fake engagement, or unrelated promotion
- content that encourages self-harm, abuse, or dangerous conduct
12. Reporting problems
If you experience something unsafe, discriminatory, abusive, or inappropriate—whether from another user or an AI output—please report it. You can contact us at: support@larkup.com
When reporting an issue, include as much detail as you can, such as:
- the workflow or user involved
- what happened
- when it happened
- screenshots or other relevant evidence, if available
We will review reports carefully and aim to respond in a fair, timely, and respectful way.
13. How we respond
If someone breaks these guidelines, Larkup or your institutional administrators may take action. Depending on the situation, that may include:
- a warning
- content or prompt removal
- temporary account restriction
- permanent removal from the platform
- referral to a university coordinator or relevant authority, where appropriate
Severe cases, including threats, hate speech, harassment, fraud, or targeted abuse, may lead to immediate action without prior warning.
14. A shared responsibility
Creating a respectful and productive educational environment is not only the job of platform administrators. It depends on how people interact with AI tools and one another every day.
Larkup is built on the idea that technology should elevate the educational experience. That only works when these tools are used responsibly and without prejudice. We expect everyone who uses Larkup to help make the platform safer, kinder, and more inclusive for others.
If you feel unsafe or believe someone is in immediate danger, contact us at support@larkup.com or your relevant university support office immediately.
